As we approach another election, NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice has proposed discussions around election issues. The full Election Checklist is HERE.
Here is an abbreviated version with three discussion questions.
SEE, LOVE, VOTE
-
- Which issue is most compelling in your life? Why?
- What types of engagement are you currently able to participate in concerning this issue? (for example, keeping informed, expressing feelings to family/friends, educating others, writing emails to Congress, joining a group, protesting, praying, supporting someone affected, etc.)
- Is there an additional type of engagement that you think you might participate in or initiate? What might that be?
- JOBS: Well-paying jobs with benefits and protections; unions; job training
- HEALTH CARE: Quality, affordable health care for all
- FOOD & HOUSING: Affordable food and housing for all
- FAIR TAXES: An economy that puts families over billionaires
- IMMIGRATION & GUN SAFETY: Safe and welcoming neighborhoods that keep families together and create pathways to earn citizenship and support common-sense gun safety laws
- ENVIRONMENT: Affordable energy, clean air, and safe drinking water
- DEMOCRACY: All eligible voters can cast a ballot and have an equal say in the decisions that affect us
- OTHER: A different issue that motivates you.
